Meet the “Daughter of a Porn King”

It doesn’t matter who your Daddy is, it matters who YOU are……..

Sunday, November 6th, at 2pm inside Elgin’s Books at Sunset
chat with author Cynthia Glickman, Ph.D. whose story is not simply growing up in the dark world of the porn industry,
but a bright and funny chronicle of a young woman’s internal struggle to achieve and overcome it.Beyond one little girl sharing her Cap ‘n Crunch with scantily-clad performers, the memoir “Daughter of a Porn King” offers a timeless message for women of all ages on taking back their power in a journey of self worth.Set in L.A. in the late ’70′s, this true story resembles a colorful Playboy version of “That ’70′s Show,” with the exploitation of women as seen through the eyes of a young girl with some real lousy role models. The author bravely describes a world of deceit and manipulation, without shame or regret, along with its destructive impact as she falls victim to the illusion of perfection, low self-esteem, poor body image and even bulimia.

Through determination, humor and insight, the author demonstrates that everyone has the power to choose…become a victim or grow from life’s lessons. Readers will laugh and cry with her on this tumultuous journey. Join us Sunday afternoon at 2pm!

Dr. Glickman will be available from 2-4pm inside the bookstore
located at 1100 South St. in Elgin.
